Going Beyond?

 Star Trek Beyond is directed by Justin Lin (Fast & Furious 3-6) and stars Chris Pine (Jack Ryan: Shadow Recruit, Into the Woods), Zachary Quinto (Margin Call, Hitman: Agent 47), Idris Elba (Pacific Rim, The Jungle Book), Sofia Boutella (Kingsman: The Secret Service) and Simon Pegg (Shaun of the Dead, Mission: Impossible - Ghost Protocol). "The USS Enterprise crew explores the furthest reaches of uncharted space, where they encounter a new ruthless enemy who puts them and everything the Federation stands for to the test". I still haven't watched the first Star Trek and I wasn't a fan of Star Trek Into Darkness - my expectations are low...does this third instalment really go beyond? 

The World is More Giant Than You Can Imagine

The BFG is directed by Steven Spielberg (Saving Private Ryan, Jurassic Park) and stars Mark Rylance (Bridge of Spies, Intimacy) and introduces Ruby Barnhill. "A girl named Sophie encounters the Big Friendly Giant who, despite his intimidating appearance, turns out to be a kindhearted soul who is considered an outcast by the other giants because, unlike them, he refuses to eat children". The BFG is a classic tale - has Spielberg been able to capture the magic that made the original so beloved?

 Now You See Me 2 is directed by Jon M. Chu (G.I. Joe: Retaliation, Jem and the Holograms) and stars Jesse Eisenberg (The Social Network, Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice), Mark Ruffalo (The Avengers, Shutter Island), Woody Harrelson (The Hunger Games, Zombieland), Dave Franco (Bad Neighbours, 21 Jump Street), Lizzy Caplan (Cloverfield, The Interview) and Daniel Radcliffe (Harry Potter, The Woman in Black). "The Four Horsemen resurface and are forcibly recruited by a tech genius to pull off their most impossible heist yet". The first Now You See Me was a hidden gem that was a solid hit in 2013 - can the second be the same or better?

Who you gonna call?
Ghostbusters is directed by Paul Feig (Spy, Bridesmaids) and stars Melissa McCarthy (Spy, The Heat), Kristen Wiig (Bridesmaids, Despicable Me 2), Kate McKinnon (Saturday Night Live), Leslie Jones (Saturday Night Live) and Chris Hemsworth (Thor, The Huntsman: Winter's War). "30 years after Ghostbusters took the world by storm, the beloved franchise makes its long-awaited return. Director Paul Feig brings his fresh take to the supernatural comedy, joined by some of the funniest actors working today". This film has the most disliked trailer in the history of Youtube - does the film deserve that amount of dislikes or does it prove the fanboys wrong?

Human. Nature.

The Legend of Tarzan is directed by David Yates (Harry Potter) and stars Alexander Skarsgard (True Blood, Generation Kill), Margot Robbie (Focus, Suicide Squad), Christoph Waltz (Django Unchained, Spectre) and Samuel L. Jackson (The Hateful Eight, Django Unchained). "Tarzan, having acclimated to life in London, is called back to his former home in the jungle to investigate the activities at a mining encampment". Warner Bros are having another shot at live action fairy tales - they failed with Pan, how will they fair with Tarzan?

It's a Huge Great Bloody Movie Sweetie!

 Absolutely Fabulous: The Movie is directed by Mandie Fletcher (Deadly Advice, Brush Strokes) and stars Joanna Lumley (The Wolf of Wall Street, Corpse Bride) and Jennifer Saunders (Coraline, Shrek 2). "Edina and Patsy are still oozing glitz and glamor, living the high life they are accustomed to; shopping, drinking and clubbing their way around London's trendiest hot-spots. Blamed for a major incident at an uber fashionable launch party, they become entangled in a media storm and are relentlessly pursued by the paparazzi. Fleeing penniless to the glamorous playground of the super-rich, the French Riviera, they hatch a plan to make their escape permanent and live the high life forever more!". This is the follow on from the successful 1990s comedy sitcom - does it convert well today or is it outdated?

Saving the world takes a little Hart and a big Johnson.

 Central Intelligence is directed by Rawson Marshall Thurber (We're the Millers, Dodgeball: A True Underdog Story) and stars Dwayne Johnson (Fast & Furious, San Andreas) and Kevin Hart (Ride Along, The Wedding Ringer). "After he reconnects with an awkward pal from high school through Facebook, a mild-mannered accountant is lured into the world of international espionage". Are Johnson and Hart a match made in movie heaven or is this a combination that should have never made it to the big screen?
