Keep America Great
 The Purge: Election Year is the third instalment in the horror franchise and sees writer/director James DeMonaco of the first two films return. The film stars Frank Grillo (Captain America: The Winter Soldier, The Purge: Anarchy), Elizabeth Mitchell (Lost, Frequency) and Mykeiti Williamson (Con Air, Forrest Gump). "Years after sparing the man who killed his son, former police sergeant Barnes has become head of security for Senator Charlie Roan, a Presidential candidate targeted for death on Purge night due to her vow to eliminate the Purge". The Purge movies have so far improved on their predecessors...can Election Year continue that pattern?

 Sausage Party is directed by Greg Tiernan (Thomas & Friends) and Conrad Vernon (Shrek 2, Madagascar 3). The film features the voices of Seth Rogen (Bad Neighbours, The Interview), Kristen Wiig (Bridesmaids, Despicable Me 2), Michael Cera (Juno, Scott Pilgrim vs The World) and many others. "A sausage strives to discover the truth about his existence". Sausage Party is the first mainstream film of its kind - will it spark a new craze or is this film the beginning AND the end of R rated animated films?

Party Like a Mother
 Bad Moms is written and directed by Jon Lucas and Scott Moore (The Hangover, 21 & Over). The film stars Mila Kunis (Black Swan, Friends with Benefits), Kathryn Hahn (The Secret Life of Walter Mitty, We're the Millers), Kristen Bell (Frozen, Veronica Mars), Christina Applegate (Up All Night, Anchorman) and Jada Pinkett Smith (Collateral, Madagascar). "When three overworked and under-appreciated moms are pushed beyond their limits, they ditch their conventional responsibilities for a jolt of long overdue freedom, fun, and comedic self-indulgence". Bad Moms has been a big hit with audiences, what makes it so special?

You were right to be afraid of the dark.
 Lights Out is the feature length directorial debut from David F. Sandberg who directed the viral short of the same name as this horror flick. The film stars Teresa Palmer (Warm Bodies, The Choice), Gabriel Bateman (Annabelle), Maria Bello (Prisoners, A History of Violence) and Alexander DiPersia (Good Girls Revolt). "When her little brother, Martin, experiences the same events that once tested her sanity, Rebecca works to unlock the truth behind the terror, which brings her face to face with an entity that has an attachment to their mother, Sophie". The short of the same name was highly acclaimed, does the feature length version live up to the hype?

 The Shallows is directed by Jaume Collet-Serra (Non-Stop, Unknown) and stars Blake Lively (The Age of Adaline, Gossip Girl) with Oscar Jaenada (Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides, Cantinflas). "A mere 200 yards from shore, surfer Nancy is attacked by a great white shark, with her short journey to safety becoming the ultimate contest of wills". Is The Shallows a Jaws for today's generation or is it just another trashy shark movie?

 Pete's Dragon is directed by David Lowery (Ain't Them Bodies Saints, Deadroom) and stars Bryce Dallas Howard (Jurassic World, The Help), Oakes Fegley, Robert Redford (The Sting, Out of Africa), Wes Bentley (The Hunger Games, American Beauty), Oona Laurence (Southpaw, Bad Moms) and Karl Urban (Dredd, Star Trek). "The adventures of an orphaned boy named Pete and his best friend Elliot, who just so happens to be a dragon". Will the next live action fairytale from Disney be as good as the others?

Nerve is directed by Henry Joost and Ariel Schulman (Catfish, Paranormal Activity 3). The film stars Emma Roberts (We're the Millers, Scream Queens) and Dave Franco (Now You See Me, Bad Neighbours). "A high school senior finds herself immersed in an online game of truth or dare, where her every move starts to become manipulated by an anonymous community of "watchers". Nerve is a film that is perfect for today's teen audience - does it just please that audience or can it have a wider appeal?

Suicide Squad is one of the most anticipated films of the year and is directed and written by David Ayer (Fury, End of Watch) - No Pressure! The cast includes Will Smith (Independence Day, I Am Legend), Jared Leto (Dallas Buyers Club, Mr. Nobody), Margot Robbie (The Legend of Tarzan, Focus), Viola Davis (The Help, Prisoners), Cara Delevingne (Paper Towns, The Face of an Angel) and many others. "A secret government agency recruits imprisoned supervillains to execute dangerous black ops missions in exchange for clemency". Not only is Suicide Squad the most anticipated film of 2016, it has had an exceptional marketing campaign - this film has set expectations high...can it meet them?

 Finding Dory is the highly anticipated sequel to the 2003 beloved classic Finding Nemo. The film is directed by Andrew Stanton (Wall-E, Finding Nemo) and Angus MacLane. Finding Dory features the voices of Ellen DeGeneres, Albert Brooks, Ed O'Neill, Kaitlin Olson and many others. "The friendly but forgetful blue tang fish begins a search for her long-lost parents, and everyone learns a few things about the real meaning of family along the way". It took 13 years for this sequel to be made and released - is that because there wasn't a story worth telling or was it worth the wait?
