 Ghost in the Shell is directed by Rupert Sanders (Snow White & The Huntsman) and is based off of the anime classic of the same name. The film stars Scarlett Johansson (Avengers, Lucy), Pilou Asbæk (Lucy, A Hijacking) and a pretty diverse ensemble. "In the near future, Major is the first of her kind: A human saved from a terrible crash, who is cyber-enhanced to be a perfect soldier devoted to stopping the world's most dangerous criminals". Ghost in the Shell is a pretty important film - it is opening mainstream audiences up to something completely different. Will it open the door or will it keep it closed?

It's Morphin Time

 Power Rangers is directed by Dean Israelite (Project Almanac) and stars Dacre Montgomery (Safe Neighbourhood, A Few Less Men), Naomi Scott (Lemonade Mouth, The 33), RJ Cyler (Me and Earl and the Dying Girl, Second Chances), Ludi Lin (Monster Hunt), Becky G (Empire) and Elizabeth Banks (The Hunger Games, Pitch Perfect). "A group of high-school kids, who are infused with unique superpowers, harness their abilities in order to save the world". Another major release packed full of nostalgia - it it just a cash in or is there an actual interesting reason to go go and see Power Rangers?

 Get Out is the directorial debut from Jordan Peele (Key and Peele), who has also written the film. The film stars Daniel Kaluuya (Sicario, Johnny English Reborn), Allison Williams (Girls) and Betty Gabriel (The Purge: Election Year, Good Girls Revolt). "A young African-American man visits his Caucasian girlfriend's mysterious family estate". Get Out is one of the most critically and commercially successful horrors in recent history - does it truly live up to the hype or is it overrated?

Beauty and the Beast is directed by Bill Condon (Dreamgirls, The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn - Part 2) and stars Emma Watson (Harry Potter, The Perks of Being a Wallflower), Dan Stevens (The Guest, Legion), Luke Evans (Dracula Untold, Fast & Furious 6), Josh Gad (Frozen, The Wedding Ringer), Kevin Kline (A Fish Called Wanda, Cry Freedom), Ewan McGregor (Trainspotting, Star Wars: Episode 2), Ian McKellen (Lord of the Rings, Mr Holmes) and Emma Thompson (Nanny McPhee, Love Actually). "An adaptation of the Disney fairy tale about a monstrous-looking prince and a young woman who fall in love". My most anticipated film of the year and most of the world - is it even possible for this to live up to the hype?

 Fist Fight is the feature length theatrical directorial debut from Richie Keen. The film stars Ice Cube (Ride Along, 21 Jump Street), Charlie Day (Horrible Bosses, Pacific Rim) and Jillian Bell (Office Christmas Party, 22 Jump Street). "When one school teacher gets the other fired, he is challenged to an after-school fight". Richie Keen is most known for comedy TV shows, TV movies or short films - can he make the big time with his first theatrical, feature length flick?

 Kong: Skull Island is directed by Jordan Vogt-Roberts (The Kings of Summer) and stars Tom Hiddleston (The Avengers, The Night Manager), Brie Larson (Room, 21 Jump Street), Samuel L. Jackson (The Hateful Eight, Django Unchained), John C. Reilly (Step Brothers, Wreck-It Ralph) and John Goodman (10 Cloverfield Lane, Monsters Inc). "A team of scientists explore an uncharted island in the Pacific, venturing into the domain of the mighty Kong, and must fight to escape a primal Eden". The second instalment in the monster-verse after 2014's Godzilla - will Kong regain his King status?

 Moonlight is directed by Barry Jenkins (Medicine for Melancholy) and is this years Best Picture winner at the Oscars. The film stars Oscar winner Mahershala Ali (House of Cards, Luke Cage), Alex Hibbert, Janelle Monae (Hidden Figures, Rio 2), Oscar nominated Naomie Harris (Skyfall, 28 Days Later...), Ashton Sanders and Trevante Rhodes (Westworld). "A chronicle of the childhood, adolescence and burgeoning adulthood of a young black man growing up in a rough neighborhood of Miami". Moonlight has officially been crowned by the prestigious Academy as the best 2016 release - is it worthy of that title?

Stranger Things
 Logan is directed by James Mangold (Walk the Line, The Wolverine) and stars Hugh Jackman (Les Miserables, Prisoners), Patrick Stewart (Star Trek: The Next Generation, X-Men), Dafne Keen, Boyd Holbrook (Gone Girl, Run All Night) and Stephen Merchant (The Office, Extras). "In the near future, a weary Logan cares for an ailing Professor X in a hide out on the Mexican border. But Logan's attempts to hide from the world and his legacy are up-ended when a young mutant arrives, being pursued by dark forces". Wolverine hasn't really had a solo film that has done him justice - is Logan, his one last ride, about to change that?
