Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 is directed and written by James Gunn (Guardians of the Galaxy, The Belko Experiment). The sequel sees the fan favourite team return - Chris Pratt (Jurassic World, Passengers), Zoe Saldana (Avatar, Star Trek), Bradley Cooper (Silver Linings Playbook, American Sniper), Dave Bautista (WWE, Spectre) and Vin Diesel (Fast & Furious, xXx). This time around, there are some new additions to the cast - Kurt Russell (The Hateful Eight, The Thing) is introduced as Starlord's father, Ego. "Set to the backdrop of Awesome Mixtape #2, 'Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2' continues the team's adventures as they unravel the mystery of Peter Quill's true parentage". The first instalment was a surprise hit - will it be just as good, if not better, the second time around?

For better, for worse. 

 Unforgettable is the feature length directorial debut from Denise Di Novi who has produced films such as Edward Scissorhands and Monte Carlo. The film stars Katherine Heigl (Knocked Up, The Ugly Truth) and Rosario Dawson (Marvel Netflix, Sin City). "A woman sets out to make life hell for her ex-husband's new wife". With a title like Unforgettable, this film is asking for puns - whether it's good or bad. Which side will it fall on?

 The Belko Experiment is directed by Greg McLean (Wolf Creek, The Darkness) and is written by James Gunn (Guardians of the Galaxy, Dawn of the Dead). The film stars John Gallagher Jr. (10 Cloverfield Lane, Hush), Tony Goldwyn (Ghost, Scandal) and Adria Arjona (True Detective, Emerald City). "In a twisted social experiment, 80 Americans are locked in their high-rise corporate office in Bogotá, Colombia and ordered by an unknown voice coming from the company's intercom system to participate in a deadly game of kill or be killed". From Blumhouse Tilt, the studio behind the beyond violent, The Green Inferno but also the critically panned, The Darkness - will The Belko Experiment succeed in being brutal and a good film?

 Smurfs: The Lost Village is directed by Kelly Asbury (Gnomeo & Juliet, Shrek 2) and features the voices of Demi Lovato (Princess Protection Program, Glee), Joe Manganiello (Magic Mike XXL, How I Met Your Mother), Jack McBrayer (Wreck-it Ralph, 30 Rock), Rainn Wilson (The Office, Juno) and Julia Roberts (Notting Hill, Closer). "In this fully animated, all-new take on the Smurfs, a mysterious map sets Smurfette and her friends Brainy, Clumsy and Hefty on an exciting race through the Forbidden Forest leading to the discovery of the biggest secret in Smurf history". Sony is doing to The Smurfs series what they are doing to Spider-Man - will this revamp be as successful as the latter seems to be?

Born Leader

 The Boss Baby is directed by Tom McGrath (Megamind, Madagascar) and features the voices of Alec Baldwin (The Departed, Saturday Night Live), Miles Christopher Bakshi, Jimmy Kimmel (Jimmy Kimmel Live!, Crank Yankers) and Lisa Kudrow (Friends, P.S. I Love You). "A suit-wearing briefcase-carrying baby pairs up with his seven-year old brother to stop the dastardly plot of the CEO of Puppy Co". Dreamworks Animation are on the cusp of a comeback, will The Boss Baby solidify it?

 Fast & Furious 8 is directed by F. Gary Gray (Straight Outta Compton, The Italian Job) and stars Vin Diesel (xXx, Riddick), Dwayne Johnson (San Andreas, Moana), Jason Statham (Spy, Snatch), Charlize Theron (Snow White & The Huntsman, Mad Max: Fury Road), Michelle Rodriguez (Avatar, Machete Kills) and the rest of the gang along with a surprising new addition, Helen Mirren (The Queen, The Hundred-Foot Journey). "When a mysterious woman seduces Dom into the world of terrorism and a betrayal of those closest to him, the crew face trials that will test them as never before". Furious 7 ended on such a poetic and beautiful note - is this new chapter going to ruin everything or will it open a new world that is filled with excitement?

We Were Better Off Alone.

 Life is directed by Daniel Espinosa (Safe House, Child 44) and stars Jake Gyllenhaal (Nightcrawler, Prisoners), Rebecca Ferguson (Mission: Impossible - Rogue Nation, The Girl on the Train) and Ryan Reynolds (Deadpool, The Proposal). "A team of scientists aboard the International Space Station discover a rapidly evolving life form, that caused extinction on Mars, and now threatens the crew and all life on Earth". Is Life simply Alien's long lost twin or is something surprisingly refreshing and new?
