ANOTHER real spy movie?

 "Kingsman: The Golden Circle" is directed by Matthew Vaughn (Kick-Ass, X-Men: First Class) who also has a writing credit alongside Jane Goldman (The Woman in Black, Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children). The sequel stars Taron Egerton (Eddie the Eagle, Sing), Colin Firth (The King's Speech, Love Actually), Mark Strong (Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy, The Imitation Game), Julianne Moore (Still Alice, The Hunger Games: Mockingjay), Channing Tatum (Magic Mike, Dear John), Jeff Bridges (Hell or High Water, True Grit), Halle Berry (X-Men, The Call), Pedro Pascal (Narcos, Game of Thrones) and a cracking cameo from the legendary Elton John. "When their headquarters are destroyed and the world is held hostage, the Kingsman's journey leads them to the discovery of an allied spy organization in the US. These two elite secret organizations must band together to defeat a common enemy". With such a large cast, will "Kingsman: The Golden Circle" play like a balanced ensemble or is it just too crowded?

"mother!" is directed and written by Darren Aronofsky (Black Swan, Requiem for a Dream) and stars Jennifer Lawrence (The Hunger Games, Silver Linings Playbook), Javier Bardem (Skyfall, Pirates of the Caribbean 5), Ed Harris (The Truman Show, Apollo 13), Michelle Pfeiffer (Batman Returns, Hairspray) and Domhnall Gleeson (Ex Machina, American Made). "A couple's relationship is tested when uninvited guests arrive at their home, disrupting their tranquil existence". It could be argued that Darren Aronofsky is yet to make a bad film. Will "mother!" continue his hot streak or is it his first major misfire?

The CIA. The White House. Pablo Escobar. One Man Played Them All.

"American Made" is directed by Doug Liman (Edge of Tomorrow, The Bourne Identity) and written by Gary Spinelli (Stash House). The film stars Tom Cruise (Mission: Impossible, Top Gun), Domhnall Gleeson (Ex Machina, About Time) and Sarah Wright (Parks and Recreation, Walk of Shame). "A pilot lands work for the CIA and as a drug runner in the south during the 1980s". Edge of Tomorrow was a criminally under-watched action flick that critics adored. Even if audiences don't connect with American Made, will those who do turn up be impressed?

 "It" is directed by Andy Muschietti (Mama), based on the world famous novel written by Stephen King and has been adapted to the big screen by Chase Palmer, Cary Fukunaga (Beasts of No Nation) and Gary Dauberman (Annabelle: Creation). The film stars Bill Skarsgård (Atomic Blonde) as the infamous Pennywise. Making up 'The Losers' Club' are Jaeden Lieberher (Midnight Special), Sophia Lillis, Finn Wolfhard (Stranger Things), Jeremy Ray Taylor, Jack Dylan Grazer,Chosen Jacobs and Wyatt Oleff. "A group of bullied kids band together when a monster, taking the appearance of a clown, begins hunting children".  "It" currently holds the record for the trailer with the most views in 24 hours. This film has a huge amount of buzz surrounding it and the bar is set high. Can "It" meet expectations? 

Killa P. 

 "Patti Cake$" is the feature length directorial debut from Geremy Jasper. Jasper also makes his screenplay debut with this flick. The film introduces Danielle MacDonald in the leading role. Bridget Everett (Inside Amy Schumer, Lady Dynamite), Mamoudou Athie (The Get Down) and Cathy Moriarty (Raging Bull, Casper) co-star. "PATTI CAKE$ is centered on aspiring rapper Patricia Dombrowski, a.k.a. Killa P, a.k.a. Patti Cake$, who is fighting an unlikely quest for glory in her downtrodden hometown in New Jersey". The title character defies stereotypes, will Patti Cake$ be more than just a formulaic success story?

 "The Hitman's Bodyguard" is directed by Patrick Hughes (The Expendables 3, Red Hill) and stars Ryan Reynolds (Deadpool, Green Lantern), Samuel L. Jackson (The Hateful Eight, Django Unchained) and Gary Oldman (The Dark Knight, Harry Potter). "The world's top bodyguard gets a new client, a hit man who must testify at the International Court of Justice. They must put their differences aside and work together to make it to the trial on time". Ryan Reynolds is still yet to have a success outside of "Deadpool", will teaming up with Samuel L. Jackson do the trick?
