"Happy Death Day" is directed by Christopher Landon (Scouts Guide to the Zombie Apocalypse, Paranormal Activity: The Marked Ones) and stars Jessica Rothe in her first major role (Rothe can also be seen as Alexis in La La Land). Rothe is supported by a fairly large ensemble cast including Israel Broussard (The Bling Ring), Charles Aitken (The Knick) and Ruby Modine (Shameless). "A college student must relive the day of her murder over and over again, in a loop that will end only when she discovers her killer's identity".  "Groundhog Day" meets "Scream" - will "Happy Death Day' successfully take a well known formula and recycle it into something that feels new and original?

"Thor: Ragnarok" is directed by Taika Waititi (Hunt for the Wilderpeople, What We Do in the Shadows) and stars Chris Hemsworth (Ghostbusters, Rush), Tom Hiddleston (The Night Manager, Kong: Skull Island), Cate Blanchett (Cinderella, Carol), Jeff Goldblum (Jurassic Park, Independence Day) and Tessa Thompson (Creed, Dear White People). "Imprisoned, the mighty Thor finds himself in a lethal gladiatorial contest against the Hulk, his former ally. Thor must fight for survival and race against time to prevent the all-powerful Hela from destroying his home and the Asgardian civilisation". Marvel are completely rebranding Thor with Ragnarok - they've been successful so far with an effective marketing campaign...will the final product live up to the hype?

"The Ritual" is directed by David Bruckner (The Signal, Southbound) and stars Rafe Spall (Roadies, Black Mirror), Robert James-Collier (Downton Abbey, Coronation Street), Arsher Ali (Line of Duty, Arthur & George) and Sam Troughton (Robin Hood [TV], Hex). "A group of college friends reunite for a trip to the forest, but encounter a menacing presence in the woods that's stalking them". Forests are great locations for horror films that genre classics like "The Blair Witch Project" and "The Cabin in the Woods" have used to their advantage; will "The Ritual" join those ranks or is it yet another forgettable horror?

"Blade Runner 2049" is directed by Denis Villeneuve (Arrival, Sicario) and stars Ryan Gosling (La La Land, Drive), Harrison Ford (Star Wars, Indiana Jones), Ana de Armas (War Dogs, Knock Knock) and Jared Leto (Suicide Squad, Dallas Buyers Club). "A young blade runner's discovery of a long-buried secret leads him to track down former blade runner Rick Deckard, who's been missing for thirty years". The announcement of this sequel seemed a little random but was in line with the current 'nostalgia' trend. Can Denis Villeneuve build on the beloved cult classic?

Starting over is not for beginners. 

"Home Again" is the directorial and screenplay debut from Hallie Meyers-Shyer, daughter of rom-com legend, Nancy Meyers (The Holiday, The Intern). The film stars Reese Witherspoon (Legally Blonde, Big Little Lies), Michael Sheen (Masters of Sex, The Twilight Saga), Nat Wolff (Paper Towns, Death Note), Pico Alexander, Jon Rudnitsky (Saturday Night Live) and Lake Bell (Man Up, In a World...). "Life for a single mom in Los Angeles takes an unexpected turn when she allows three young guys to move in with her". Nancy Meyers has enjoyed lots of success in the romantic-comedy genre...has she successfully passed the baton on to her daughter?

WINnie or POOh?

"Goodbye Christopher Robin" is directed by Simon Curtis (Woman in Gold, My Week with Marilyn) and stars Domhnall Gleeson (Ex Machina, About Time), Margot Robbie (Suicide Squad, The Wolf of Wall Street), Kelly MacDonald (Brave, Black Mirror) and introduces Will Tilston. "A behind-the-scenes look at the life of author A.A. Milne and the creation of the Winnie the Pooh stories inspired by his son C.R. Milne'.  Despite not being in the hands of Disney, can "Goodbye Christopher Robin" still hold all of the magic and charm of the beloved books and animated series?
