Ava DuVernay (Selma) directs A Wrinkle in Time, an adaptation of the classic book by Madeleine L'Engle; it has been adapted to screen by Jennifer Lee (Frozen) and Jeff Stockwell (Bridge to Terabithia). The film stars Oprah Winfrey (The Butler), Reese Witherspoon (Big Little Lies), Mindy Kaling (The Mindy Project), Levi Miller (Pan), Chris Pine (Wonder Woman) and introduces Storm Reid in her first leading role. "After the disappearance of her scientist father, three peculiar beings send Meg, her brother, and her friend to space in order to find him". Lots of cultural significance has been placed upon A Wrinkle in Time; is there more to this film than just its industrial and social importance?

Peter Rabbit is directed by Will Gluck (Friends with Benefits); Gluck also assists on the script alongside Rob Lieber (Alexander and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day). The film features the voices of James Corden (Trolls), Daisy Ridley (Star Wars), Margot Robbie (I, Tonya) and Elizabeth Debicki (Guardians of the Galaxy Vol.2). Rose Byrne (Bad Neighbours) and Domhnall Gleeson (About Time) also star, but in live action form. "Feature adaptation of Beatrix Potter's classic tale of a rebellious rabbit trying to sneak into a farmer's vegetable garden". There are two routes this adaptation of "Peter Rabbit" can go down: It'll either be another Paddington or another Hop; let's hope it takes the rabbits from the latter and the terrific story-telling from the former.

"Tomb Raider" is directed by Roar Uthaug (The Wave) and its screenplay is written by Geneva Robertson-Dworet (debut) and Alastair Siddons (Trespass Against Us). Academy Award winner Alicia Vikander (The Danish Girl) stars as Lara Croft; she is accompanied by Walton Goggins (Justified), Dominic West (The Wire) and Daniel Wu (New Police Story). "Lara Croft, the fiercely independent daughter of a missing adventurer, must push herself beyond her limits when she finds herself on the island where her father disappeared". It has been 15 years since "Lara Croft Tomb Raider: The Cradle of Life"; has enough time passed for a reimagining of the character? Can "Tomb Raider" defy the infamous reputation of video game film adaptions?

"Game Night" is directed by John Francis Daley and Jonathan Goldstein (Vacation). The film's cast includes Jason Bateman (Horrible Bosses), Rachel McAdams (About Time), Kyle Chandler (Friday Night Lights), Sharon Horgan (Catastrophe), Billy Magnussen (Into the Woods), Lamorne Morris (New Girl), Kylie Bunbury (The Sitter) and Jesse Plemons (Black Mirror). "A group of friends who meet regularly for game nights find themselves trying to solve a murder mystery". A great cast, comedic directors/writers and a genius concept, the odds are looking good for "Game Night"; will it be a winner or a loser?

 "Red Sparrow" is directed by Francis Lawrence (The Hunger Games: Catching Fire) and the screenplay, based upon the book by Jason Matthews, is written by Justin Haythe (Revolutionary Road). Jennifer Lawrence (Silver Linings Playbook) stars in the leading role and is accompanied by Joel Edgerton (The Gift), Matthias Schoenaerts (The Danish Girl), Charlotte Rampling (45 Years) and Jeremy Irons (Reversal of Fortune). "Ballerina Dominika Egorova is recruited to 'Sparrow School,' a Russian intelligence service where she is forced to use her body as a weapon. Her first mission, targeting a C.I.A. agent, threatens to unravel the security of both nations". In recent years, Jennifer Lawrence has played a shapeshifting mutant, an inventive entrepreneur and an anxious mother; as Lawrence continues to diversify her portfolio, can she successfully play a Russian spy?
