This week, Kung Fu Panda 3 remained on top despite a steep second week drop and 10 Cloverfield Lane was just behind with a stronger per/theatre average. The Boy managed to crack the top 5 and High-Rise and Kapoor & Sons - Since 1921 were both able to crack the top 10 with very strong openings, despite relatively limited releases.

 I have recently taken a break from the box office for the past few weeks to focus on reviews and other content. Before we dive into this weeks box office, over the past few weeks, Grimsby opened solidly, The Forest disappointed, London Has Fallen topped the chart and Hail, Caesar! saw a solid debut. Right, you're all caught up so lets get into this weekends box office!

Kung Fu Panda 3 opened at number 1 and Allegiant came in at a distant second place. The Witch and Anomalisa both saw strong debuts further down the chart.

Ghostbusters will be an all female re-boot of the popular 80s films. This film will be the directed by Paul Feig who has previously brought us Bridesmaids, Spy and The Heat. The film will star Kristen Wiig (Bridesmaids, The Martian), Melissa McCarthy (Bridesmaids, Spy), Kate McKinnon (Saturday Night Live, Ted 2) and Leslie Jones (Saturday Night Live, Trainwreck) as the new Ghostbusters. They will be joined by Chris Hemsworth (Thor, In the Heart of the Sea) and some of the original Ghostbusters are on the slate such as Bill Murray. "30 years after Ghostbusters took the world by storm, the beloved franchise makes its long-awaited return. Director Paul Feig brings his fresh take to the supernatural comedy, joined by some of the funniest actors working today". This trailer has more dislikes than likes on Youtube so will this film be treated like Fantastic Four or does it deserve a lot more appreciation and hype? Ghostbusters will hit the world on July 15th 2016.
