Creed (2015) - Trailer #2 Review

Creed is directed by Ryan Coogler (Fruitvale Station) and is the next instalment in the Rocky franchise. The film stars Sylvester Stallone (Rocky, The Expendables), Michael B. Jordan (Fantastic Four, That Awkward Moment) and Tessa Thompson (Selma, Dear White People). "The former World Heavyweight Champion Rocky Balboa serves as a trainer and mentor to Adonis Johnson, the son of his late friend and former rival Apollo Creed". So the first trailer for this movie was a roaring success, can trailer 2 match it? Creed hits cinemas in the USA November 25th 2015 and in the UK February 19th 2016.

What I Like:

• You see a lot more of Tessa Thompson in this film and I think she looks like she is going to be very good
• The use of music is once again very good
• The film associates itself a lot more with the Rocky films
• There seems to be more to the film than boxing which is good
• Sylvester Stallone also seems to put on a solid performance

What I Don't Like:

• The trailer basically gives away all major plot points
• I found Michael B. Jordan very unlikeable in not only the Fantastic Four but the interviews he did for that movie - I don't know if i'll be able to route for Jordan in this type of film
• The movie is very similar to Southpaw which means it has stiff competition 
• It didn't match the greatness of the first trailer for this film
• Jordan also looks very moody in this trailer

Overall, I am quite disappointed with this trailer. The first trailer created such high expectations that I just feel a little underwhelmed. It also doesn't help that I saw Fantastic Four which has put me off of Michael B. Jordan a lot. Even though the trailer still has a great use of music, it generally feels like a copycat of Southpaw's trailer - that movie gave away every major plot point too - can someone not make a trailer for a boxing movie without revealing everything?
