Every Generation Has a Story
Star Wars: The Force Awakens is directed by J.J. Abrams (Star Trek, Lost) and introduces Daisy Ridley who stars alongside John Boyega (Attack the Block, Imperial Dreams), Harrison Ford (Star Wars, Indiana Jones), Carrie Fisher (Star Wars, When Harry Met Sally...) and Adam Driver (Inside Llewyn Davis, What If). "30 years after the defeat of the Galactic Empire, a new threat rises. The First Order attempts to rule the galaxy and only a ragtag group of Heroes can stop them, along with the help of the Resistance". Possibly the most anticipated film of all time - it is worth the incredible amount of hype or is it also one of the biggest disappointments of all time?

Sisters is directed by Jason Moore (Pitch Perfect) and stars Amy Poehler (Inside Out, Parks and Recreation), Tina Fey (Mean Girls, 30 Rock), Maya Rudolph (Bridesmaids, Grown Ups) and John Cena (Trainwreck, The Marine). "Two sisters decide to throw one last house party before their parents sell their family home". Sisters is a non-starter box office wise due to the release of Star Wars. However, will its quality suggest that is deserves to make more? Can a whole movie filled with Poehler and Fey be tolerable or will they get annoying?
You Better Watch Out
Krampus is directed by Michael Dougherty (Trick 'r Treat) and stars Adam Scott (Parks and Recreation, The Secret Life of Walter Mitty), Toni Collette (The Sixth Sense, Miss You Already), David Koechner (Anchorman, Get Smart) and Allison Tolman (The Gift, Fargo). "A boy who has a bad Christmas ends up accidentally summoning a Christmas demon to his family home". So Christmas has finally got its own horror film and the trailer was watched by many around the World - the question is, will Krampus be on the nice or naughty list?

We Wish You a Murray Christmas
This one hour long Netflix special is directed by Sofia Coppola and features Bill Murray alongside a bunch of his celebrity friends - Chris Rock, George Clooney, Maya Rudolph, Amy Poehler and Miley Cyrus to name a few. "Bill Murray worries no one will show up to his T.V. show due to a terrible snow-storm in New York City". Netflix has definitely succeeded in the television market but can it crack the film market too? The jury is still out on Beasts of No Nation and The Ridiculous 6 is getting slammed by pretty much everyone - where does A Very Murray Christmas lie?

Meet Your Makers
Victor Frankenstein is directed by Paul McGuigan (Lucky Number Slevin, Push) and stars Daniel Radcliffe (Harry Potter, The Woman in Black), James McAvoy (X-Men, Narnia) and Andrew Scott (Sherlock. Spectre). "Told from Igor's perspective, we see the troubled young assistant's dark origins, his redemptive friendship with the young medical student Viktor Von Frankenstein, and become eyewitnesses to the emergence of how Frankenstein became the man - and the legend - we know today". Can Warner Bros make monster movies good again? The other monster movie re-tellings haven't faired well with audiences or critics - how will Victor Frankenstein do?

Will this be the revival of Johnny Depp? or is it just another crowded wannabe awards contender?

The Danish Girl - it may just become one of the most powerful and important films of the year - the film tells the story of the first ever transgender patient. The film has had Oscar buzz since before the ceremony last year - with Eddie Redmayne winning Best Actor last year, can he do it again two years in a row? This post will include a review of the second trailer, a rundown of what experts are predicting for the films Oscar performance and a exciting competition!
The Pixar Underdog?
The Good Dinosaur is the feature length directorial debut from Peter Sohn. The film features the voices of Raymond Ochoa, Jack Bright, Jeffrey Wright (Casino Royale, The Hunger Games 2-4) and Steve Zahn (Dallas Buyers Club, Joy Ride). "An epic journey into the world of dinosaurs where an Apatosaurus named Arlo makes an unlikely human friend". So The Good Dinosaur has kind of become Pixar's 'other film' this year and everyone is finding it hard to believe it can compete with Inside Out - So, is The Good Dinosaur towards the end of the Pixar scale or is it one of the best?

1:21 PMSpectre enjoyed one last week at number one with a strong hold, taking in over $11 million. Steve Jobs also cracked the top 5 (5th) with just under $1.4 million.

"Three scouts, on the eve of their last camp-out, discover the true meaning of friendship when they attempt to save their town from a zombie outbreak". So the trailer for the upcoming Warcraft movie has just dropped and I haven't actually watched it so the comments made in this trailer review will be my initial reactions. I also haven't ever played the game so it will be interesting for those of you who have to see an outsiders perspective. To get this review out as soon as possible, the opening paragraph with background details will be added at a later date. Here is the review...

Through The Looking Glass also adds Sacha Baron Cohen (Bruno, Borat) to the mix. "Alice returns to the whimsical world of Wonderland and travels back in time to save the Mad Hatter". The first Alice in Wonderland joined the billion dollar club but was received with a mixed response from from critics and audiences. Can Through the Looking Glass be another mega-success for the House of Mouse? The first trailer for the film was just released so lets see how Alice Through the Looking Glass seems to compare not only to the first film but Disney's Live Action Universe...

Fantastic Beasts & Where to Find Them: Entertainment Weekly Cover & New Images - Review
3:26 PMMagazines have really stepped up their game recently! First the magnificent Suicide Squad covers from Empire and now this pleasantly surprising cover from Entertainment Weekly. For those of you who haven't heard of Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them - it is a Harry Potter spin off and takes place before the Harry Potter films. Before this cover was released, it would say my excitement for the film was at about a 5 or 6 but now it's really near to a 10. Entertainment Weekly released a new cover and 8 (really 7) new photos from the film and I will give my thoughts on all!

Possibly the best covers for Empire Magazine in a long time were released this month. Not only is the cover film a flick that is probably my most anticipated for next year but the whole layout, colours - everything on each cover just works! The one I purchased was the Harley Quinn cover - partly because she is my favourite character, partly because she is Margot Robbie and partly because I think it has the best design. I had to go to two different petrol stations - the first only had Deadshot and Enchantress so we went to the next nearest petrol station and luckily they had Harley! I have also seen tweets to Empire online asking if they have actually put Harley Quinn out as they can't find her cover anywhere - I think she is going to sell the most!
I'm going to break the review down from this point, a section for each cover:
The Joker
This was actually the first of the four to be revealed - I thought he was going to be the only cover as he is probably the most well known character in the film. I really like this cover as it uses the two main colours of the character throughout - purple and green. I think this is really effective and just makes the whole think very pleasing to the eye. I also like how the Joker looks evil with high electric cables - this shows that he means business and is one to be scared of. Jared Leto is giving the reader a very stern look. I think this cover will be one of the most popular out of the four due to the character but he is also kind of the leader of the 'Suicide Squad'.
Enchantress
Deadshot
Harley Quinn
The cover that was saved till last is definitely the best. I love the pose, outfit, expression etc of Harley Quinn - I think she looks absolutely fantastic. I also like how Empire continue the colour idea - Harley's main colours are pink and blue. I really like how where her blue ponytail is, it is on a pink background and where her pink ponytail is is on a blue background. I think the colours work best on this cover out of all of them - Empire rarely do bright covers so it is refreshing to see one. It is also nice to see (Along with Enchantress) a female on an Empire magazine cover - they are on them sometimes but mostly it is male stars so it is nice to see.
Overall, I think these covers are brilliant - each one is designed extremely well and credit has to go to Empire magazine for producing such great covers this month. I purchased their magazines monthly for over 3 years and this is the first bunch that I want every single cover. If I was to purchase another copy to go with my Harley Quinn cover, it would probably be The Joker just because they are a good pairing. The only complaint I do have is Mockingjay - Part 2 should have really been given this cover as it was the last opportunity for them to have one- Empire usually does use The Hunger Games as their cover film but I suppose Warner Bros rang them up with this world exclusive they couldn't turn down. These covers make me so excited for when Suicide Squad is released next August and we'll probably get some more covers then so I can't wait!
All rights and credit for these photos go to Empire Magazine.
The December 2015 issue of Empire Magazine is out now. The next issue will be themed to Star Wars - The Force Awakens.
What do you think of these covers? Which ones will you be buying? - COMMENT BELOW

Audiences and critics alike are becoming tired with this franchise with every entry - can the 6th change this?

Skyfall was a huge move - both critically and financially, can Spectre match or even top it?
In spirit of the release of Paranormal Activity: The Ghost Dimension and the fact that Halloween is just around the corner, this post will give you a run down of horror in 2015 so far. Horror movies so far this year have had little impact on critics, the box office and no new 'classics' have been made. How does 2015 compare to previous years? What are the best and worst horror movies of the year so far? Which horror movie is winning the box office race? What horror films are remaining for the year? Find out here!

Age film stars Mia Wasikowska (Alice in Wonderland, Stoker), Jessica Chastain (The Martian, Interstellar), Charlie Hunnam (Pacific Rim, Sons of Anarchy) and Tom Hiddleston (Thor, The Avengers). "In the aftermath of a family tragedy, an aspiring author is torn between love for her childhood friend and the temptation of a mysterious outsider. Trying to escape the ghosts of her past, she is swept away to a house that breathes, bleeds - and remembers". With an intriguing plot but underwhelming trailers - how much should we beware Crimson Peak?
So Spectre is only a couple of weeks away so it must be time to celebrate what is likely to be one of the biggest films of the year! This post will include a review of the final trailer, a little insight into how big the film could be box office wise and a very exciting competition!

"12-year-old orphan Peter is spirited away to the magical world of Neverland, where he finds both fun and danger, and ultimately discovers his destiny -- to become the hero who will be forever known as Peter Pan". Even though it is a Warner Bros production, will it live up to Disney's live action remakes?
Regression is directed by Alejandro Amenabar (The Others, The Sea Inside) and stars Ethan Hawke (Boyhood, Sinister0 and Emma Watson (Harry Potter, The Perks of Being a Wallflower). "A father is accused of a crime he has no memory of committing". The trailer for Regression might just be my favourite of the year, will the film be as good?

UK Box Office October 9-11: THE MARTIAN stays on top, SICARIO has solid debut
11:29 AMThe Martian held on to the top spot this weekend. Debuting in second place with a strong debut was Sicario and The Walk took third place.
The only other opener within the top 10 was Regression which took 9th place.
In Mexico, Sicario Means Hitman.
Sicario is directed by Denis Villeneuve (Prisoners, Incendies) and stars Emily Blunt (Into the Woods, Edge of Tomorrow), Josh Brolin (Everest, W.) and Benicio Del Toro (Snatch., The Usual Suspects). "An idealistic FBI agent is enlisted by an elected government task force to aid in the escalating war against drugs at the border area between the U.S. and Mexico". Sicario came out of numerous film festivals with rave reviews - does it live up to the hype?
The Intern is directed by Nancy Meyers (The Holiday, The Parent Trap) and stars Robert De Niro (American Hustle, Silver Linings Playbook) and Anne Hathaway (Les Miserables, The Princess Diaries). "70-year-old widower Ben Whittaker has discovered that retirement isn't all it's cracked up to be. Seizing an opportunity to get back in the game, he becomes a senior intern at an online fashion site, founded and run by Jules Ostin". Experience may never get old but after a 6 year break, are audiences tired of Nancy Meyers?

"Dracula and his friends try to bring out the monster in his half human, half vampire grandson in order to keep Mavis from leaving the hotel". The first was a solid hit, can the sequel be an improvement box office wise and quality wise?
The Forest will be the feature length debut from Jason Zada. The film stars Natalie Dormer (The Hunger Games: Mockingjay, Game of Thrones) and Taylor Kinney (The Other Woman, Zero Dark Thirty). "An unexplained horror occurs in a Japanese forest". The Forest has had little promotion until now - will it be an outstanding debut from Zada or will it come across as amateur? The Forest hits US Cinemas January 8 2016 and March 25 2016 in the UK.
Directed by Catherine Hardwicke (Twilight, Red Riding Hood) and starring Drew Barrymore (Donnie Darko, Scream) and Toni Collette (The Sixth Sense, Little Miss Sunshine), Miss You Already seems to be one of the top contenders for the biggest tear-jerker. "The friendship between two life-long girlfriends is put to the test when one starts a family and the other falls ill". Can Miss You Already be a smaller film that makes a big impression or will it be a small film that makes no impression?
The Revenant is directed by Alejandro Gonzalez Inarritu (Birdman, Babel) and stars Leonardo DiCaprio (Inception, The Wolf of Wall Street), Tom Hardy (Legend, Mad Max: Fury Road) and Will Poulter (We're the Millers, The Maze Runner). "In the 1820s, a frontiersman, Hugh Glass, sets out on a path of vengeance against those who left him for dead after a bear mauling". The Revenant has had production problems but is also DiCaprio's big shot for an Oscar - which will be clearer? The Revenant opens on December 25 2015 (limited) in the US and January 15 2016 in the UK.

But Watney has survived and finds himself stranded and alone on the hostile planet. With only meager supplies, he must draw upon his ingenuity, wit and spirit to subsist and find a way to signal to Earth that he is alive". Is The Martian destined to be another huge Ridley Scott property like Alien and Blade Runner or will it be a disappointment like Prometheus?

Man Up is directed by Ben Palmer (The Inbetweeners) and stars Lake Bell (What Happens in Vegas, No Strings Attached) and Simon Pegg (Shaun of the Dead, Hot Fuzz). "A single woman who's mistaken for a stranger's blind date, leads to her finding the perfect boyfriend". Man Up is a British comedy which isn't a genre that is known to produce very good films (see Love, Rosie)...can Man Up be an exception?

"Four outsiders in the world of high-finance who predicted the credit and housing bubble collapse of the mid-2000's decide to take on the big banks for their lack of foresight and greed". The Big Short is like Moneyball meets American Hustle - will it meet the quality of those films? The Big Short hits US Cinemas 23rd December 2015 and UK Cinemas 22nd January 2016.
